An Evening with Cobalt Brass

Based in Manchester, the ensemble is made up of five young freelance musicians, who met whilst studying at the Royal Northern College of Music. Since graduating, they have performed together in a number of high profile festivals and concert series, as well as individually appearing with some of the country’s leading orchestras.

In their performances, Cobalt Brass explore a vast landscape of different musical styles and genres, drawing their inspiration from the worlds of classical, jazz, and pop music. They are also passionate about commissioning new music, and regularly approach composers to write for them. In this concert in the run-up to Christmas, they will again be performing an eclectic programme of pieces by Gustav Holst, John Rutter and Sir Malcolm Arnold, with a few seasonal favorites thrown in for good measure.
