The orchestra will be led by Anita Naughton who leads the Bolton Symphony Orchestra and  conducted by Andreas Ashikkis, a student from the Royal Northern College. We look forward to working with both these people

Andreas (b. 1998) is a Cypriot conductor based in Manchester, UK.

While working towards his Master’s in Conducting at the Royal Northern College of Music, Andreas has conducted new works performances, Halloween & Christmas concerts with minimal rehearsal time, and has assisted conductors such as M. Brabbins, Sir Andrew Davis, J. Mena, J. Storgårds, and J. Weilerstein at the BBC Philharmonic and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. Most notably, in January 2024, he conducted a world premiere in a side-by-side concert with the BBC Philharmonic and RNCM students, recorded for BBC Radio 3.

Previously, he studied Orchestral Conducting with M. Logiadis at the Ionian University (GR), graduating at the top of his class. While in Corfu, he served as assistant conductor to A. Baltas at the Philharmonic Society of Corfu Symphony and created a youth orchestra at the Ionian Conservatory focusing on film music. Subsequently, he continued his studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (SK) with M. Lejava, culminating in a performance with the ensemble Cappella Istropolitana for his final exam.

His most recent engagements include assisting Y. Kountouris with the Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra and J. Weilerstein with the Kalamata Festival Orchestra, enabling him to conduct pieces during their performances.
