A meditative ambience is positively mandated.

River Voices developed from the bleakness that was Covid. We couldn’t meet together; we couldn’t sing together. So we did the next best thing. Crosby-based singing teacher and soprano Lynne Rogers started ‘Don’t come and sing’ sessions via the internet. When we could sing together in person, we gathered in outside spaces and sang.
Most of that group is still meeting. Our choir has expanded and developed. We’re now River Voices, but we’re still led by Lynne. Though we do perform ‘traditional’ choral concerts, our focus is on contemporary repertoire and we are pioneers in the staging of immersive soundbaths.
